The Aachen Center for 3D Printing is a joint project between the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT and the University of Applied Sciences Aachen with the aim of giving small and medium-sized companies access to the entire process chain in the field of additive manufacturing (AM) so that they can exploit the economic and technological opportunities offered by this innovative technology.
In this joint project, scientists from the University of Applied Sciences Aachen and the ILT work very closely together on concrete questions from industry and in relation to additive production. This ensures knowledge transfer between the Aachen research groups.
The practice-oriented approach to AM solutions and the specialists’ in-depth understanding of processes and systems open up access to the entire AM process chain, especially for small and medium-sized companies.
